She has shared those insights in articles on LinkedIn and as a presenter at last year’s RISE conference in Las Vegas. As Associate Creative Director, she leads the Medicare creative development team at KERN Health.
Jim Techtmann Senior Vice President of Rewards & Incentive Solutions
Jim has over 22 years’ experience in developing customer engagement solutions that help clients drive valued behavior and engagement with their brands. He has focused his attention over last decade developing an expertise in healthcare and designing solutions that reward members with incentives for taking an active role in their health care decisions.
Jim partners with clients to understand their member lifecycle and build solutions that support their goals. His solutions are fueled by EntertainmentÒ’s best-in-class offers, which are selected based on the lifestyles, geographies and demographics of the target audience. Jim helps shape these offers into print, online, card-based and mobile programs for acquisition, loyalty, retention and to reward desired behaviors.
In the Medicare space, Jim focuses on offers and delivery methods that work best with the senior demographic. He has helped Medicare Advantage companies reach a variety of goals, like encouraging wellness visits, risk assessments and preventative screenings. Improvements like these can lead to higher star ratings and increased bonus payments for clients, and healthier lifestyles and program satisfaction for their members.
Nate Purpura is the Vice President of Partner Success at eHealth, Inc. (Nasdaq: EHTH). Nate manages performance marketing programs for three dozen Medicare partnerships in the pharmacy, value-based provider and financial services verticals. In 2019 Nate grew new Medicare sales from performance marketing programs from $6 million to $25 million.
Michael Parker is the COO of NationsBenefits and joined the company in 2016. In this role, he leads operations for NationsBenefits, including Sales and Business Development, Marketing, Client Implementation and Services, Compliance, and Strategy.
Prior to joining NationsBenefits, Michael was a part of the highly selective Global Management Trainee (GMT) Program at Anheuser-Busch InBev. This elite program provides rotational management experience and exposure to all facets of the global corporation, in anticipation for placement as a future leader of the organization.
Michael graduated from the University of Virginia, with a dual degree in Economics and Philosophy.
Tori leads Connecture’s Enterprise Account division working with health plans to maximize adoption of Connecture’s omnichannel solutions to improve the client experience with technology, sales and drive success. Tori was instrumental in centralizing Connecture’s carrier-broker network management and has provided consulting for several large private exchanges. She has a backing in Medicare marketing having worked with United Healthcare Secure Horizons prior to Connecture. When Tori isn’t working, she stays active by chasing after her 4 boys (husband included) and loves to work out but is also a serious foodie!

Rau has 25+ years of experience in insurance and began his career as a broker, focusing on commercial group, individual and Medicare health sales. In 2007 he became the Regional Sales Manager for Anthem BCBS individual broker sales, and eventually transitioned to the role of Broker Sales Director for Medicare Products. While at IU Health Plans, Rau introduced the first $0 premium plans, optional supplemental dental benefits, electronic enrollment capabilities for brokers, the call center and consumers, OTC program, healthy rewards incentives, and telehealth. A Greenwood, Indiana native, he received his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University.
Shannon Drotning Director of Medicare and Individual Sales
Shannon Drotning has worked in the health insurance field for over 20 years, focusing on Medicare and Individual plans. She is currently the Director of Medicare and Individual Sales for Providence Health Plan in Portland, Oregon. She oversees sales strategy and channel development. She is a Medicare expert and has served in various sales and marketing roles that serve the senior population and their families. Shannon received a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Washington, and studied in Seville, Spain her junior year to become proficient in Spanish.

Archie Dey leads the Consumer Experience and Insights efforts at SCAN Health Plan. In his current role, Archie leads the strategic planning, design and implementation of initiatives which drives Member Satisfaction, Net Promoter Score and Retention. As part of Insights, Archie is the Business Lead for building Artificial Intelligence capability across the enterprise to enable data informed decision making and strategic planning process. Archie is passionate about the future of AI and the role AI has to play in the space of Healthcare and Consumer Experience. Archie has extensive healthcare strategy, Operations and Analytics experience with both Health Plan and Provider groups. He has lead enterprise efforts to create innovative programs focused on customer experience, enterprise transformation, Consumer insights and advanced analytics Prior to SCAN, Archie has been a management consultant specializing in Strategy and Operations for the Healthcare Industry. Archie did his undergraduate in Mechanical Engineering with focus on Industrial Design and earned his MBA from USC Marshall School of Business.
